Safe Chicks, personal safety training for young women, educates girls to be proactive in avoidance and prevention of physical harm. Safe Chicks is a non profit organization dedicated to empowering our daughters to have the confidence to go out into the world with a new sense of awareness, an ability to better defend themselves and to be a safer chick.
Our class is geared towards educating girls in the 9th through 12th grades and older, in particular, coeds who are going off to college or going out into the workplace by giving them the ability to be more proactive in the prevention of life threatening violence. Personal safety skills for young women are critically important. Many take part in a cause only after they have experienced personal tragedy. It is imperative that girls are educated in this area before violence has the opportunity to strike. Our goal is to prevent any of our daughters, sisters and friends from becoming a victim.
Our 3.5 hour class is lead by instructors specializing in personal safety and self defense. The first hour is taught in a classroom setting as we teach our students practical skills in how to be more aware of their surroundings to reduce personal risk. The next 2.5 hours is instruction in self defense techniques through the art of Krav Maga, which was created by the Israeli Defense Forces as the most effective way to fight off an attacker. Our students find this training to be especially empowering.
We welcome mothers and older sisters for this very important and potentially life saving class.
Safe Chicks holds classes in many Denver area and Colorado schools and organizations. Please contact so us so that we can educate your girls in the area of personal safety skills.
